In the end, I'm only mildly satisfied with how it turned out. Part of the risk of custom work is that it may not be perfect. However, it turned out ok, about what was expected and we didn't charge a custom price to make it. (Were picky with our work!)
More importantly, we made a customer happy and we did something they would struggle to find anyone anywhere else. We can do custom work but there would need to be some dialogue on what the ultimate goal is and the risks of prototyping.
In this case the quality was very high, but the aesthetics were low. The next time I think I can raise how it looks but need to buy a special piece (cost rises). It was nice to see someone be happy. Escanaba Polo Mallet Company will consider custom work on a case by case basis due to uniqueness of the project.
